When Stealing Language from Math / not without checking first.

Topology. A compact space — is a space that contains (for convenience of math) a finite subcover.

For any topological space X can be obtained (as to say added onto its subcover) an extra point labeled at ∞, often called: a point at infinity.

A point at infinity. Love that.

Methods of compactification create a point where ever needed that can stretch to infinity, depending it seems upon needs of geometry, in order they say to keep it from "going off to infinity" —

Which is backwards way of describing it, because what it simply means — is that they can cap and measure it, establish a point that can accept a limit, that can be used to throw a rubber like cover over spaces — allowing for full extensibility but no "escape."

In order to treat as a solid of infinite moldability.

Topology studies properties of spaces that are invariant under any continuous deformation.

Kind of like my novel.

It is sometimes called "rubber-sheet geometry" because the objects can be stretched and compacted like rubber — and nowhere may infinity be said to escape into the incommensurate.

Poetry is a compactness, going in after the incommensurate, many ways like music, yielding itself to repetitions and aphorisms.

I found that wrt “the god quandaries” esp it was useful to let math in, as a serious joke, as did shakes, yes.

Shakes never strays from poetic, everything he does is eclipsed by it.
