As I understand it, this book is being reissued. https://sylviaplathinfo.blogspot.com/2022/05/faber-to-reissue-sylvia-plath-drawings.html
She only talks about drawing in her letters.
Narry at all in her poems… or her fiction, I think.
I have had a really good run drawing for fashion. Its paid me. And extended planes from geometry, to learning dimensions as a conduit to planes and drawing bodies in perspective, as well as shoes hats, flowers etc.
I enjoyed without guilt. It didnt take away from the writing… As almost any other gigs I had did.
But part of me wishes that it wasnt so heavily influenced by fashion requirements.
My writing tho is influenza’d, is infected, thinks of influences as language itself.
But drawing, like Sylvia in a way. I was freed from having to say anything else about it other than that its there. In front of me. Or designed with Sunil.
And If I worked at it I could capture, in different styles, to suit different fashion industry needs, and design prints, screens, etc… verily, to a perfection.
So could she, draw, what was basically in front of her, or from a photo, when she set her mind to it — Notice the top stitching on the shoes…
Here is link to some more of her drawings, site from which I got these — called:
