But also they dont exist. They themselves are just abstractions.... or mythic focus, or the druid and his riddle. I dont think of gods, as listening to what I have to say, so much as being part of language itself, as I run across Miltons rhymes in my own rhymes.

FYI, this is a fascinating book about our discovering consciousness by way of identifying with "the subject" in our gods.
